The General Medical Council (GMC) registers doctors to practise medicine within the UK. The purpose of the GMC is to protect, promote and maintain the health and safety of the public by ensuring proper standards in the practice of medicine.


The European Medicines Agency is a decentralised agency of the European Union, located in London. The Agency is responsible for the scientific evaluation of medicines developed by pharmaceutical companies for use in the European Union.


The Royal Pharmaceutical Society is the leadership body for the pharmacists within the UK. The body provides works to promote the work done by pharmacists so that it is understood by the public, health professionals and the government.


Formerly known as the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain the General Pharmaceutical Council are the regulator for pharmacy premises, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians within the UK.
